Account requirements.
You must be old enough to enter a binding agreement in your country (typically 13 or older). You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity under your account.
RSS content.
Lumio is a reader. Articles displayed in the app are fetched from third-party RSS feeds and websites and remain the property of their original publishers. Lumio does not own, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy of that content. If you are a publisher and want a feed removed from Lumio, contact us using the address below and we will remove it.
Publishers can also limit how Lumio uses their pages without contacting us. We honour machine-readable opt-outs (robots.txt, TDMRep and noai directives): where a publisher has opted out, Lumio shows only the feed's own content and does not offer AI summaries for that source.
AI-generated content.
Lumio can generate a short bullet-point summary of an article (“Key Points”) when you ask it to. Summaries are produced by OpenAI through its API from the article text Lumio already holds. They are not written, checked or endorsed by Lumio or by the article's publisher, and they are not editorial content. A summary may be incomplete or wrong: read the article before relying on anything in it.
Key Points stay off until you accept the in-app consent prompt, which names OpenAI as the processor. You can withdraw that consent at any time in Settings → AI Key Points, after which no further article text is sent. Every summary is labelled as AI-generated and can be reported from inside the app. Summaries are subject to a daily limit that depends on your plan and is shown in the app, and are not offered for sources whose publisher has opted out. How article text is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.
Acceptable use.
You agree not to:
- Use the app to break the law or infringe others' rights.
- Reverse-engineer the app or attempt to gain unauthorized access to Lumio's systems.
- Access the Lumio API other than through the official app, or use bots, scrapers or other automated tools to collect articles, feeds or other data from Lumio's services.
- Submit feeds that contain illegal content, malware, or content you do not have the right to distribute.
- Abuse the in-app reporting, submission, or feedback channels.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Lumio Pro.
Lumio offers an optional auto-renewing subscription (“Lumio Pro”) that lifts the free plan's limits and unlocks premium features. The current features, limits and prices are shown in the app before you subscribe.
- Billing. Subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play and charged to your store account under the store's terms. Lumio never sees or stores your payment details.
- Renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each monthly or annual period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
- Cancellation. Cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled by the store under its policies. Lumio cannot issue refunds directly.
- Subscription state. RevenueCat, our subscription processor, validates store receipts and tells Lumio whether your subscription is active. See the Privacy Policy.
- When a subscription ends. Your account returns to the free plan. Tabs and sources beyond the free limits are kept but locked until you resubscribe. On the free plan, saved articles expire 30 days after you save them; everything you saved while Pro is kept for 30 days after the subscription ends.
Disclaimers.
Lumio is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific feed will continue to be available.
Limitation of liability.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lumio and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
Changes to these terms.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date and, where required, surfaced inside the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law.
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Lumio's operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
